Stabilisation (including MDI)

Our tailored physiotherapy protocol for patients who have undergone arthroscopic shoulder stabilisation is carefully structured to support gradual rehabilitation. Spanning over a period of 4 to 6 months post-surgery, this protocol is divided into three distinct phases. Each phase is designed to progressively enhance shoulder strength and stability, facilitating effective and steady recovery. This structured approach is crucial for patients working towards regaining full shoulder function after their stabilisation procedure.

Post Operative Phase 1

First 6 weeks

Post Operative Phase 2

6 weeks to 3 months

Post Operative Phase 3

3 to 6 months

Multidirectional Instability (MDI). A non-operative program focussing on scapular control supervised by a physiotherapist should be the first line treatment. For more details see: Watson-Warby Protocol.
